1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

Are you ready to read 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten?!

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten is a nationwide program that promotes reading to young children. You are your child’s first teacher and reading to them is an important step in helping your child succeed as they grow and learn. Reading with your child plays a key role in the bonding experience that creates memories and a positive experience around reading and learning that will last a lifetime.

This program is self-paced and the length will depend on how often you read with your child. If you read at least one book a day you can finish in just three years! It’s okay to read a book more than once. That book they have you read every night? Count it! The book the librarian read during storytime? Count it! Even when siblings, relatives, and friends read to your child it all counts!

For every 100 books your child reads they will receive a small prize and photo op. Once they get to 1,000 books they will receive a t-shirt!
