Free Summer Meals

Looking for a way to ensure your kids get a healthy meal during the summer months? Look no further than the Summer Meals program! Sponsored by the Greater Chicago Food Depository and funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, this program provides free breakfasts and lunches to all kids under the age of 18. And the best part? No registration is required!

Meals will begin June 13 and will run weekly until the second week of August.

If you’re in the Franklin Park area, you’ll be glad to know that the local library is participating in the Summer Meals program. You can stop by the library on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 9 – 11 AM or 12 – 2 PM to pick up a free meal for your child.

The Summer Meals program is administered by the Illinois State Board of Education, and is available at locations throughout the state. So if you’re not in the Franklin Park area, be sure to check out the program’s website to find a location near you.

Don’t let the summer months be a time of worry and stress when it comes to feeding your kids. Take advantage of the Summer Meals program and give your kids the healthy meals they need to thrive!
