Library Hours:
Franklin Park Public Library is looking for volunteers who are passionate about helping others, are flexible, and have a positive attitude.
Teen volunteering is available for grades 6-12. Volunteer hours are a maximum of 3 hours per day and are available afternoons, evenings, and Saturdays. To be coordinated with Alyssa.

Volunteer hours are open to anyone in grades 6-12, unless otherwise noted. All in-person service hours require registration. If you cannot attend your hours, be sure to contact Alyssa within 2 hours of your agreed upon hours. You can cancel by calling the Library or emailing Alyssa. If you no call or no show 3 times you will not be able to volunteer in person again for 1 year. Volunteer arrangements MUST be made by the teen. No arrangements will be made with the parent/guardian/adult of the teen.
In addition to in-person volunteer hours we also have Take, Make, and Bring Back Kits, Book Reviews, Attend a Program and Review it, and Volunteer for a Program, Stay the Duration, and review it for hours.
Take, Make, and Bring Back Kits are available for 1 service hour.
Each month there will be 20 Take Make and Bring Back kits available at the Information Desk. Teens must be the only ones to pick them up. They will not be given to a parent or guardian. The kits will have the instructions, materials, and due dates.

Book Reviews are 4 Hours for each book reviewed
Grab any book that is a YA Book, YA Graphic, or Manga read the book and write a review in your own words. Bring the review back to the Library and we’ll post it for a month. Reviews must be a minimum of 3 sentences about what you liked, disliked, favorite parts, etc.,
I will not accept Book Reviews for The Great Gatsby, Lord of the Flies, or any other classic literature book you have read for school. Books you’ve read for school can count if they are part of the Lincoln Awards List or something published within the last 5-10 years.
Attend a Program and Review it are 3 Hours for each program attended
Attend any program for Teens and review it. If it is a monthly program, you can only review it the first time you attend. Reviews must be a minimum of 3 sentences about what you liked, disliked, favorite parts, etc.,
Volunteer for a Program, Stay the duration, and review it are 5 Hours for each program attended
Help set up the program, stay for the whole program and enjoy, help clean up, then review the program. Reviews must be a minimum of 3 sentences about what you liked, disliked, favorite parts, etc.,
Help with a Program varies depending on the program
Don’t want to review a program, but still want hours? No problem!
When you register for volunteer hours, please include the programs you would like to volunteer for. You may not get every program you are interested in.
