Franklin Park Library patrons can checkout a Meta Quest 2 Kit and gain access to hours of virtual reality fun and excitement!

You will need an Internet connection and a Meta/Facebook account. Games are not included, and must be purchased separately.

The Meta Quest 2 Kit is shelved at the Circulation Desk. It can be checked out for 7 days by patrons age 18 or older. The Meta Quest 2 Kit comes with the headset itself, an AC adapter, a USB cable and two controllers. If the kit is checked out, place yourself on hold or ask at the Info Desk.

Meta Quest 2 Kit Lending Policy

Franklin Park Public Library District offers the Meta Quest 2 (“MQ2”) VR Headset Kit for loan as an extension of the Library’s video game collection. Patrons aged 18 or older with a Franklin Park library card in good standing can check out the MQ2 VR Headset Kit. The kit is holdable for Franklin Park card holders only, and limited to 1 per library card.

The loan period is 7 (seven) days with no renewals. Overdue fines are $5.00 a day. Failure to return the MQ2 VR Headset Kit and accessories within 42 days after the original due date will result in a charge to the cardholder’s account of $200.00 with a $5.00 processing fee.

Borrowing:  A borrower should have these technical requirements at home to use the MQ2 VR Headset Kit:

1. A wireless internet connection

A borrower must sign the Statement of Responsibility. After checking out the kit, the borrower will receive the following items:

1. 2 Controllers
2. 1 VR Headset with Face Cushion (installed with removable glasses spacer and silicone cover)
3. 1 USB-C to USB-C cable
4. 1 power adapter (capable of 10W)
5. Printed materials
6. Microfiber cleaning cloth
7. Carrying case

Returning:  When returning the MQ2 VR Headset Kit, the borrower must:

1. Return the kit to the Circulation Desk during library business hours. The kit should not be returned in the bookdrop.
2. Return all 11 items (MQ2 VR headset plus 10 accessories in 1 kit case) to the Circulation Desk at the same time.
3. Failure to return any of the 11 items will result in a charge to the cardholder’s account for the replacement cost of the material(s).

Full replacement cost is $200.00 with a $5.00 processing fee.
